As a person who enjoys the convenience (and savings!) of shopping online, I frequently place orders with various online retailers and am often amazed at how ambiguous the shipping times can be. Amazon.com, for example, which is located right in my back yard, sometimes gets me my packages within a day or two, but other times it takes closer to two weeks to arrive. There’s very little consistency, it seems, which can make planning around a deadline very challenging, to say the least.
For the sake of clarity, I’d like to explain how the MPGear system works so we can hopefully prevent our customers from experiencing similar confusion when it comes to shipping/processing times.
First and foremost, make sure the product you’re ordering doesn’t say “Out of Stock.” We do occasionally run out of stock on things and have to order more from our suppliers, which can delay things by anywhere from 1-5 days, depending on where the supplier is located.
Assuming the product is in stock, we will do our best to get your order out the same day it’s placed. The cutoff time is 2:00 pm PST. Orders placed after 2:00 pm should be placed with the expectation the order will ship the following day. Orders placed with expedited shipping options (UPS Ground, UPS 3 Day, UPS 2nd Day, and UPS Next Day) receive priority over orders where the Free Economy Option is selected.
Finally, another important thing to remember is that Saturday and Sunday do not count as business days. So, for example, let’s say a customer places an order via Next Day Air on Friday before 2:00 pm. The order will still ship on Friday, but it won’t arrive to the customer until the following Monday.
Hopefully this will help alleviate any confusion surrounding our processes, but if you don’t find an answer to your question here, you’re always more than welcome to give us a call at 877-411-GEAR, or send an email to orders@mpgear.com and we’d be glad to clarify!
