In the deep, dark months of winter, it’s news to no one that headlamps are necessary for biking, running, kayaking, camping, and any other outdoor activity that’s conducted after 5 PM. But does the usefulness of the headlamp stop at outdoor sporting activities?
Absolutely not!
Here’s our list of activities that are ten times better/easier/more fun with a beam of light shooting out of your forehead.
1. Picking Up Dog Poop
Your pup doesn’t want its’ exercise routine to be affected by the season’s lack of daylight any more than do you, so don’t use winter as an excuse to skip out on quality time between you and the one who’s never let you down. Make cleaning up after your dog in the dark easier with a headlamp. That way, you can see exactly where and what you’re reaching for on the ground. You really don’t want to miss.
2. Working On Your Car
Most of us don’t have time for this during the daylight hours of the workweek, and even if you’ve got a nicely lit garage to work in, a headlamp makes working on your car infinitely easier even if it’s not completely dark outside.
3. Stealth Snacking
If you don’t live on your own, sneaking out of bed for a midnight snack without disturbing any nearby sleepers can be tricky business. You don’t want to turn on any lights, but that long trek to the refrigerator can be treacherous in the dark. The solution? A headlamp! Happy snacking.
4. Sheet Forts
You’re never too old for a sheet fort, and when it’s too cold to play outside, there’s nothing better than building a giant fabric mansion in the middle of the living room. Grab a book, put on your headlamp, and you’re ready to post-up in your fort all night long.
5. Working On Your Computer
The idea for this post came from this particular activity. One of our customer service reps was experiencing problems with his computer a few nights ago and found that the process of taking apart and reassembling his computer was far easier with a headlamp. You heard it from the pros!
6. Dance Parties
Alright, dancing isn’t necessarily easier with a headlamp, but no dance party is complete without a human strobe light. You’ll also be able to keep a close eye on your fellow partiers to make sure no one needs a refill.
