A Quick Look At The Big Agnes Fly Creek UL 4 Person Tent

Earlier this week MPGear crew member, Alex, had some time to set up the Big Agnes Fly Creek UL 4 Person Tent. Here’s some of his thoughts on this lightweight tent:

“Before setting up Fly Creek UL 4, I hardly thought the phrase and “four person” and “backpacking tent” belonged in the same sentence.  It is really challenging for manufacturers to make a tent with a large capacity that is still light enough to be classified as a backpacking tent.

Weighing in at 4lbs 9 oz, this 4-person tent definitely qualifies for the featherweight division.  Instead of using several poles, this tent has a unified frame system that makes set up simple, quick, and intuitive.  When the tent was fully assembled, I was impressed that such a large shelter popped out of such a small package.

True to backpacker form, the Fly Creek UL4 will fit 4 average sized persons shoulder to shoulder.  Below you’ll find the floor diagram from Big Agnes’s website to demonstrate.  After setting it up, I can confirm its accuracy.  We tested the sleeping space inside, make sure you aren’t camping with anyone you don’t like!

Overall, Big Agnes is spot on with the Fly Creek UL4.  There just aren’t many 4-person shelters that come in such a lightweight and compact package and I definitely recommend it for backpackers.  However, if you’re willing to add a couple pounds for some extra room, you may want to consider a heavier 4-person tent.”

  1. I have been browsing online more than 2 hours today,
yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me.

In my view, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will be much more useful
    than ever before.
