There’s an interesting discussion happening in our office today. When you go on outdoor adventures whether it’s hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing, snowboarding, etc, do you bring your phone along with you? Some people are strongly against it because they head to the outdoors for an escape, and some people suffer separation anxiety if their phone is not by their side, or prefer to carry it with them for safety reasons.
SO, we’re taking our discussion to the streets (well…blog actually) to see how other outdoor enthusiasts feel about the subject. Share with us!
It’s not that I can’t leave the house without my phone, really the phone bit I could do without.
It’s all the ‘apps’ that come with it; GPS, internet for checking gear reviews before you buy something, taking a picture of scenery if you haven’t charged the camera battery. It can be used as a safety aid if the unfortunate happens, calling MRT/emergency services.
I don’t let it distract me from the adventure though…
Good insight, Davy. There are a ton of great apps out there that make perfect outdoor companions!
